Legal
Privacy policy
Written to be read. If a line here is unclear, ask and we will explain it in plainer words rather than pointing at a clause.
This policy covers what Kent Removals does with personal information collected through this website and in the ordinary course of quoting for and carrying out removals, packing and storage work across Kent.
Controller
Kent Removals is the data controller. Requests and complaints go to hello@kentremovals.uk and are read by a person.
What is collected
The quote form
Name, phone number, email address, pickup address, drop-off address, an optional moving date and optional notes. Used to answer your enquiry and, if you go ahead, to do the work — nothing else.
Calls, emails and surveys
Whatever you tell us plus the contact details you use. Where a survey happens: volume, access, and the surveyor's notes about stairs, lanes and where a vehicle can stand.
Storage
An inventory of the goods held, the storage agreement, and contact details. We must be able to identify you before releasing anything, so these are kept while goods are with us and for a period afterwards.
Site visits
Server logs, and aggregate analytics where enabled. No advertising trackers, no cross-site profiling.
Lawful bases
- Answering your enquiry. You asked; a reply is what you expect.
- Performing a contract. Once booked, your details are needed to carry out the work.
- Legitimate interests. Job records, protecting staff and vehicles, and understanding which pages help.
- Legal obligation. Accounting and tax retention periods are set by law.
reCAPTCHA
The quote form uses Google reCAPTCHA to filter automated submissions. It receives technical signals from your browser under Google's own terms.
Who else sees it
- Hosting and email providers acting on our instructions.
- Insurers, where a claim arises.
- Customs authorities and clearing agents on a European move — the inventory and residence documents are the basis of clearance.
- Our accountant, and anyone we are legally required to tell.
Enquiry data is never sold, and never passed to other removals firms or lead brokers. Where we recommend a town firm, we give you their details rather than giving them yours.
Retention
Unconverted enquiries are kept for a reasonable period then deleted. Completed-job records are kept for accounting, insurance and claims purposes. Storage records are kept while goods are held and for a period after redelivery.
Your rights
Access, correction, deletion, objection and portability — email hello@kentremovals.uk and it will be handled within the statutory period. Some records cannot be deleted on request (an inventory of goods in store, accounting records in a retention period) and we will say which rather than refusing without explanation. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Cookies
No marketing or advertising cookies. Analytics, where enabled, sets measurement cookies only; blocking them breaks nothing here.
Changes
Material changes appear on this page. The terms applying to a specific job are those you were given when you booked. See also our terms.
